Thinking of volunteering? Find out about the new Streetlaw Project?

Are you a 2nd or 3rd year law student or a student on the 2-year intensive law degree?

Would you like to become involved in the new pilot Streetlaw Project?

The University of Northampton Student Law Society with support from staff in the Law Division are setting up a Streetlaw Project to run early next term for 6 weeks.

A Streetlaw Project is a project which involves students researching a particular area of law which is of concern to a community group.  At the end of the project the students will stage an interactive workshop with the community group.  This will ensure that the community group is aware of their legal rights and responsibilities and how the legal system can be used to protects those rights and responsibilities.

By becoming involved in the Streetlaw project students will enhance their own learning and will also improve their practical skills – especially research and presentation skills. In order to be chosen to take part in the project you need to demonstrate that you will be a reliable and committed member of the team.

If you become involved in the project it will look great on your CV.  You will also receive training from the University Centre for Employability and Engagement in project management and presentation skills.

If you would like to find out more then please come along to a meeting in the Naseby Open Space on Wednesday 4 December at 11am.
