- To present one full list per day (4 to 5 cases on average) representing the Respondent decision-maker as above, at the First Tier Tribunal.
- You will be allocated preparation time so that you are fully prepared for the appeal in advance of the hearing, ensuring full awareness of the facts of each case and the relevant immigration law, policy and country information. You should review each case prior to the hearing and only proceed to a full hearing if the decision under challenge remains appropriate and capable of being defended
- To ensure all papers and appeals bundles are served to the Tribunal and the appellant’s representatives in advance of the hearing.
- To ensure that each case is argued fully in line with the law and UKVI policy, responding appropriately to new evidence and issues raised.
- To ensure you follow the published Professional Standards for Presenting Officers
- To test the evidence given by the appellant (and any witnesses) before and at the hearing by cross-examination in each case
- To comply with all directions set by the Court
- To ensure that you fulfil all post-appeal administrative duties within 48 hours of the hearing:
- Feedback to original decision makers
- Update the internal database with the outcome and issues
- Ensure post-hearing minutes and file minutes are completed accurately
- To actively follow and promote all Home Office values. To present oneself in a professional manner at all times in line with UKVI professional standards.
- There is no staff management planned for these roles.
There will be a full training course scheduled for all successful candidates prior to attending Court as well as an experienced mentor allocated to each individual.
- This is a non reserved post and is therefore open to UK, British Commonwealth and European Economic Area (EEA nationals) and certain non EEA nationals.
