Are you interested in becoming a barrister?
Do you want to know more about
life at the Bar and how to achieve your ambition?
Do you want to meet a High Court
Judge?
If so, then come along to an informal event arranged by the Law Division on Monday 13 October 2014 from 4pm to 6pm in Naseby Room
3.
We are delighted that The Honourable Mr Justice Dove (formerly of No 5
Chambers, Fountain Court, Birmingham) will join us to explain about life at the
Bar and his recent appointment as a High Court Judge.
Mr Justice Dove went to school in Northampton, read law at St Catherine’s
College, Oxford and was called to the Bar in 1986. He was appointed
Queen’s Counsel in 2003 and became a High Court Judge in 2014.
We are also anticipating that barristers from local chambers in Northampton
will join us together with University of Northampton Law lecturer and barrister
Sophie Lomas. Sophie will explain about her career at the criminal
Bar.
There will be a question and answer session and you will have an opportunity
to talk to Mr Justice Dove, local barristers and Sophie in an informal
atmosphere.
All students are welcome. If you are intending to come along it would
be helpful if you could email Margaret Roberts so we can get an idea of
numbers.
