How to win £100 in Amazon vouchers - just write a short essay on any aspect of law and popular culture by Friday 18th December

How to… win £100

The competition

Students are invited to write a short essay on any aspect of law and popular culture.

The prize

There’s a prize fund of £100 in Amazon vouchers for the winner/s – winning will also look great on your CV!

The judging criteria

Your essay should be based on any aspect of law and popular culture, for example you may wish to write about the legal themes explored in one of the films shown in the ‘Law & Film’ sessions, how female lawyers are depicted on TV, what impact popular music has on attitudes towards sexual violence, or the legal impact of Nordic crime novels.  In fact you can write about pretty much anything that interests you, and you will be rewarded for originality.  Essays will be judged on how well they demonstrate the skills you’ve been taught in the ‘How to…’ sessions so you should demonstrate that you can conduct research, construct an argument, be critical in your analysis, and reference it all properly.
