Are you a first or second year law student? Do you need legal work experience?

Are you a first year of second year Law student (or a student in the first year of the 2-year intensive law degree) who is interested in becoming involved in the Pro Bono Legal Advice Clinic?

The Pro Bono Legal Advice Clinic was launched in September 2011.  The Clinic is staffed by volunteer lawyers from Shoosmiths solicitors with support from volunteer law students from the University of Northampton. The Clinic gives free legal advice to people who could not otherwise afford to access legal advice.

The Clinic was established with the assistance of LawWorks, the operating name of the Solicitors Pro Bono Group and it is one of over 100 other pro bono clinics around the country which LawWorks supports.

The Clinic is run on a monthly basis at the premises of Citizens Advice in Northampton Town Centre. The Clinic usually takes place on the second Wednesday evening of every month between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

By taking part in the Clinic you will be playing a positive part in the community as well as enhancing your learning experience.  It will enable you to understand the practical application of your legal knowledge and skills.

If you are interested in finding out more about becoming involved in the Clinic please come to a meeting on Wednesday 20 April 2016 at 1 pm in N3

If you are coming to the meeting please email Margaret Roberts in advance so we have a rough idea of the number of students interested.
