Looking for a summer internship? 2016 JUSTICE summer internships - Closing date Monday 25th April 2016

Please see below for information:

JUSTICE invites applications for their paid 2016 summer internships.

The successful applicants will work closely with our policy staff: conducting legal research; providing commentary on draft legislation; assisting with third party interventions; and supporting working parties of our membership exploring critical issues of law reform. The internship will provide the opportunity to develop research and drafting skills, to engage with litigation and law-making processes, and to be part of a small, friendly and committed staff.

Given the nature of our work, applications are sought from law graduates only. This includes people who expect to have completed a law degree or GDL or are a CILEX graduate by the time they start the internship. Applicants should demonstrate an interest in the challenges affecting the justice system – whether criminal, civil or administrative – and have an understanding of the UK’s constitutional and human rights framework. They should have excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Though we will aim to be flexible, the summer internship will take place for three months, ideally between June and October. The intern will be expected to work full time during this period and will be paid the London-living wage (£1,425 a month).

To be considered for this internship please email a copy of your CV, and a brief covering letter to jobs@justice.org.uk. The covering letter should explain your interest in JUSTICE and interning, indicating relevant education, skills and experience, and your availability for the internship. Your CV should include the contact details of two referees.

Please mark your email with ‘INTERNSHIP’ in the subject line.
Closing date: Monday 25 April.

Short listed candidates will be invited for an interview during the following fortnight.
JUSTICE’s interns are governed by the principles of equal opportunity.
