Looking for funding to suport your law based postgraduate course?


Are you a final year undergraduate law student (LLB or Jt Hons) at the University of Northampton? Are you intending to undertake any kind of postgraduate study leading to a law-based career?

If so, then why don't you consider applying for the Max Engel Bursary which is worth £1,500?

The deadline for applications is Friday 2 May at 4pm.
 
Interviews of shortlisted applicants will take place on Thursday 19 June 2014.

The Law Society Diversity Access Scheme



Applications for the Law Society Diversity Access Scheme which offers financial assistance for the Legal Practice Course will open on 10 February 2014, when the form will be available to download from the Junior Lawyers Division website.

Important scholarship information

For those final year LLB students interested in a career at the Bar, you should now be researching which institutions you want to study the BPTC at but you shuld also be researching which Inns of Court you want to join and what types of scholarships they are offering.

This year the Inner Temple is expecting to make awards to a total of           £1,500,00 for all scholarships. Please note that the deadline for scholarship applications (at the Inner Temple) for the 2014-15 Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) is 1st November 2013. Visit http://www.innertemple.org.uk 

The Inner Temple will be attending The Careers in Law Day at The University of Northampton on Weds 6th November, 11am - 3pm in the Library Foyer at Park Campus.

Information about careers at the Bar

Are you are keen to hear about careers at the Bar but don't want to wait for open days or leave the comfort of your home to research your options? If so then TARGETjobs may have the perfect resource for you. Their website contains videos from the 2012 National Pupillage Fair so in only a couple of clicks you can hear from professionals who work in areas such as human rights, public law, commercial law and more. In addition there is also a useful video about funding your career at the Bar.

The Diversity Access Scheme


The Diversity Access Scheme offers assistance with Legal Practice Course (LPC) fees to exceptional individuals who face or have overcome exceptional obstacles to qualify as a solicitor. Obstacles may be of a financial, social, educational or personal nature, or might relate to a disability or chronic health condition that makes the goal of qualifying as a solicitor a particularly challenging one. The scheme also provides successful applicants with work experience and mentoring opportunities. Scholarship news from Inner Temple Inns of Court


The Inn is providing nearly £1.4 million in scholarships this year, £1 million of which will be for BTPC students.  

The deadline across all 4 Inns for BPTC scholarships is always the last Friday in November.  Therefore, it has already passed for 2012 BPTC entry, and the form will re-open in September 2012 for 2013 entry.
