Leicester De Montfort Law School GDL and LPC Open Day

Are you considering doing a law conversion course (GDL) or studying to become a solicitor (LPC)?  

The next Leicester de Montfort Law School open day is taking place on Wednesday 11th March 2015 between 2-4pm.

If you would like to attend this open day email: srai@dmu.ac.uk by Friday 6th March to confirm your attendance.

Leicester de Montfort are able to pay £15 towards each student’s travel costs over to Leicester. To do this, you will need to provide your travel receipts/details of your mileage and submit a claim form on the day so that they can reimburse you.

3.00 – 3.30 p.m.          -    Tour of LILP facilities

3.30 – 4.00 p.m.          -    Refreshments (during which members of staff from LILP will be available to answer individual questions)

Not sure where to study your LPC?


Leicester Institute of Legal Practice is holding an Open Day on Wednesday 12 March from 2-4pm for prospective students who are interested in pursuing a career in the legal profession either through full-time or part-time study. 
The event will include presentations about the LPC  (including in each case a section on Careers and Finance and a Question and Answer session).  This will be followed by a tour of the building in which we are based, then drinks and the opportunity to talk to members of staff who teach on the course.

LPC & BPTC Open Day at Nottingham Trent University- 2nd Nov


The Open Day runs from 10.00 – 16.00 hours with registration from 09.30.

We recognise that not everyone is interested in all three courses, so we suggest that you tailor your arrival time to fit the presentations that you want to attend. There is an opportunity to mingle with course leaders, tutors and current students over lunch (which is free!):

10.00 for the GDL presentations. These will begin with a presentation from Gail Cunningham, the GDL course leader and will be followed by a GDL careers workshop.

11.30 for the LPC presentations. Amanda Rushby, the LPC course leader, will talk through the LPC and then give students an opportunity to participate in an LPC “taster” session. After lunch, there will be a presentation from the LPC Careers team.

14.00 for the BPTC presentations. Ian Fox, the BPTC course leader, will provide an overview of the course before handing over to a practitioner from the local bar who will talk about the process of getting a pupillage.

Have you applied for your LPC yet?

Guaranteed Place Scheme - Legal Practice Course (LPC)

LILP offers the LPC in two modes:

·        Full-time - one year – for more information click:

Applications are via the Central Applications Board.

For students studying at the University of Northampton, if you achieve a 2:2 or above in your Qualifying Law Degree you are guaranteed a place on either the full-time or part-time LPC at LILP.   You still need to apply by the usual route and complete the relevant application form in full and, if you are applying for the full-time LPC, you would need to place LILP as your first choice. If you place LILP as your second or third choice we cannot guarantee you a place on our full-time LPC and our normal selection criteria would apply.
